What we don't collect
Terra Soccer has no accounts. We never ask for β and never store β your name, email address, or any other personal information. There are no analytics scripts, no advertising, no tracking pixels, and we sell nothing to anyone. The site is completely free to use.
What stays in your browser
Your preferences are remembered on your device:
- Language choice β a cookie remembering the language you picked.
- Followed teams, picks and ratings β kept in your browser's local storage so the site immediately shows your current choices.
Clearing your browser data resets all of these on your device.
The anonymous token and community data
To power community features without accounts, your browser receives a signed token containing a random identifier. It proves only "same browser as before" β it contains nothing about you and cannot be linked to you.
So that the community totals are meaningful, a few things are stored on our servers against that random identifier (never against you):
- your favorite team and predicted winner;
- the teams you follow (mirrored from your browser); and
- your player star ratings (1β5).
Re-choosing simply updates the value instead of duplicating it. We use these only in aggregate β the most-loved and most-followed teams, predicted winners, and top-rated players shown on the Community page. There is still no name, email, account, or anything that identifies you: just a random id and your choices.
IP addresses
We use IP addresses transiently, in memory, to rate-limit token issuance and voting (our anti-bot protection). They are not written to our database. Like virtually every website, our hosting infrastructure also keeps standard, short-lived server logs.
Third parties
Some page resources load from third-party services, which see your IP address as part of serving them: Google Fonts, the CDNs serving Vue.js, Socket.IO and D3.js, and player photos served from Wikimedia. Links to X (Twitter) take you to their platform under their policies.
